SHE-IMPACT: Empowering Women through Innovation
With the continuous improvement of women’s global social status, cultural quality, and consumption power in recent years, the power of women affects various fields such as economy, culture, and life. The theme for the UN International Women’s Day 2021 was “Women’s leadership refers to the contribution of women today to bring different experiences, perspectives, and skills to many areas of society.” According to the United Nations, women play an important role in all walks of life. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) #17, gender equality, is the focus that we hope to promote as our core value in the SHE IMPACT series of activities. The #SHEIMPACT #herinfluence annual theme came into being through the Shanghai-Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Yingzihui, with the support of multiple media outlets and related groups.

According to the UNWTO, more than half of tourism jobs employ women worldwide and with the current pandemic, many tourism workers and females have been affected, making technological innovation a key part of realizing better gender equality. In fact, research on the aggregate effects of gender gaps in the market from 2016 (Cuberes, D., & Teignier, M) states that gender gaps lower GDPs due to less economic diversification and productivity. By understanding the challenges of gender and an evolving social environment, the importance of developing industries where women play a significant role is critical for maintaining a more sustainable world. With new digital technologies and innovation, women can be better connected to the world economy to amplify global growth and output that is more inclusive and aligned to the UN’s sustainability goals.
Unlock New China during the COVID era
Entering the Chinese market takes time and extensive research as well as a deep understanding of consumer insights, trends, and local behaviors. Engaging in all these activities may be expensive and impossible for small to medium-sized businesses around the world. With the added constraints of COVID-19, finding an efficient and cost-effective solution is vital to unlocking the potential of the Chinese market. However, finding partners that can digest both the international and local Chinese perspectives can be hard and risky.
Under the goal of connecting global cultures to the Chinese youth, Shake to Win has been facilitating China market access for SMEs, cultural organizations, as well as public institutions from all over the world, building commercial and emotional bridges between distinct nations and helping Chinese consumers to reach the most unique places, products, and people. We offer an extensive range of services including localization, social media, online marketing, offline campaigns, e-commerce, and more, leaving you to focus on your business without the need to learn Chinese from your local destination.
